Jowonio Means ‘To Set Free’ IN The Language Of The Onondaga Nation, Which Reflects The Mission Of The Jowonio School: To Free Children To Learn And Grow Without Stereotypes And Prejudice. Jowonio Is A Nonprofit School That Offers Both Pre-School And Kindergarten Programs For Children At A Variety Of Ability Levels. With A Faculty That Consists Of More Than 60 Teachers, Therapists, Social Workers And Psychologists, Jowonio Enrolls More Than 140 Students, A Third Of Which Are Considered Special-Needs Children. The School Was Established With 15 Students IN 1969 By A Group Of Parents Seeking An Alternative To Public School Education.
